New Mayor is Orpington Ward Cllr Kim Botting

Councillor Kim Botting of Orpington Ward was elected Mayor of Bromley for 2018-19 at the annual meeting of the Council on Wednesday, 16 May.

As one of her first mayoral duties she appointed Councillor David Cartwright of Mottingham and Chislehurst North Ward as Deputy Mayor. 

Voter ID pilot – acceptable ID announced

Bromley will be participating in a pilot at the Local Elections on 3 May this year to test the requirement to produce identification in order to vote at the Polling Station.

Yet another doorstep scam

There is a report from Chelsfield Village of another doorstep Scam about which we would like to warn you. In December a uniformed delivery driver called at a house in Chelsfield and delivered a basket of flowers and a bottle of wine.

Biggin Hill Airport Hotel application

Biggin Hill Airport has put in a Planning Application for a hotel with 56 bedrooms on three floors, including a restaurant and Gymnasium with appropriate car parking. The proposed site is in front of the Bombardier Building with access from Churchill Way.

We are delighted to hear of the planned expansion by Bombardier at Biggin Hill Airport in which the company has taken over a second Hangar and plans to increase their staff to 115 by mid 2018.
