Postal & Proxy Voting

Vote by Post

This is an easy and convenient way of voting if you are unable to get to the polling station or do not wish to vote in person.

To apply for a postal vote, please go to:    https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uplo…

You can also use this form to apply to vote by post for a particular election or referendum, for a set period of time or for all future polls. Postal votes can be sent to addresses in the UK and abroad.

Vote by Proxy

If you can’t vote in person, someone can vote for you. You can tell them who to vote for. This is called a proxy vote.

Before you apply

You can ask anyone to act as your proxy, as long as they are registered to vote and it’s for a type of election they’re allowed to vote in.

You can be a proxy for 2 people at the same election, or more if the extra people are close relatives.

How to apply for a proxy vote

There are different forms, depending on why you can’t get to the polling station. Make sure you complete the right one.

You may be able to apply for an emergency proxy vote if the deadline to apply for a proxy vote has passed.
